It is a lucky community that has a college. Colleges provide a huge positive input to a town. Education, culture, jobs, and a huge draw for people who attend. Of course, not all students are young, but many are. When a town attracts young people, it creates its future. Towns that lose young people struggle. Sometimes they even die off.
We are very fortunate to have multiple colleges in the Tahoe Truckee area.

Sierra Nevada College is the only four-year residential school on this list. It has bachelors degrees in Outdoor Adventure Leadership, Ski Business and Resort Management, and an Interdisciplinary program that you design your own degree by matching and integrating two disciplines.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Daniel. I should also point out that Sierra Nevada College has graduate programs and offers masters degrees in several areas.
DeleteOn a more personal note, Sierra Nevada College would have suited me better than the big university that I attended!
